Now we have to shape what some have started calling; The Church at Home. Although I keep asking myself; What do those who do not have a home do? For this reason, at the same time, I am declaring today in our Holyrood Church a Lenten day of prayer, fasting and reading the Bible in the Time of the Coronavirus.
The Love

The biblical reflection for today comes from I John 4:18: There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
According to the verse, what is the source of that person’s fear? What is the single thing that frightens them? They fear being "punished". Why is this one person afraid he or she will be punished? Again, the verse tells us the answer. The person knows punishment is coming because they are "not perfected in love."
In the first place, love is what disposes us to execute all our duties. It is love that moves us to take refuge in God in times of difficulty.
When affliction comes, we want to be close to those we love, and receive the comfort of their company.
The person who loves God takes always refuge in God; in good times and in bad times. Anything we do that has the appearance of virtue is nothing but hypocrisy when executed without love. Love is central to the Christian life, the summary of all Christian virtues
We need to understand that there is a deep connection between daily life and my love to God. In other words; What actions do you take in your daily life to show God that you love Him? We can start by recognizing that our missionary work is to share with other what is in my heart. You remember when Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved him. Beyond Peter saying yes is Jesus' answer; If you love me, take care of my sheep. Could we express this radical love today?
