Love of God is also demonstrate by loving Mother Earth

Good morning, happy Wednesday, and blessings.

There are many wonderful verses in the Bible about God’s love, but few come close to describing His great love as succinctly and powerfully as John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” This reality of the love of God must be based on a reciprocal relationship where I also recognize, accept, and put into practice the love of God. Of course, this sounds very easy in words, but putting it into practice is difficult. I aid difficult, not impossible. That is why God will always be judging not so much my perfection as a Christian person when doing the things that he asks me but rather my sincerity in trying to do things as he wants. So it becomes necessary to constantly evaluate my process of sincerity towards God and the rest of his creation.

God loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be born on earth and die on a cross. Why? We are all sinners and the Bible says the consequence of sin is death, eternal separation from God. There is nothing we can do to make us “good enough” for heaven.
But God made a way. Christ lived a perfect, blameless life and provided the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He died in our place.

God radically requires us to love even enemies who have aggressively hated us, cursed us, and taken what rightfully belongs to us. If we are disciples of Jesus, we do not have the option of loving or not loving. This radical love is not just a special requirement for the super-committed. It is clearly God’s standard for all Her children. If Jesus is our Savior and Lord, we must struggle to understand and apply His teaching here. While we may not reach the summit in this life, we should die trying. The big challenge is that God’s radical love requires our kind treatment of those who mistreat us.

God’s radical love extends to all people, even to those who are ungrateful and evil. As His children, our love should reflect His love. We must actively engage in good deeds toward those who have treated us wrongfully. Our love must be self-denying, not self-seeking. We must set aside what we think to be our personal rights if we want to follow our Lord in practicing this radical love. Are you ready to demonstrate your love for God?

And speaking of radical love, do you know that today in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic we are celebrating Mother Earth Day? One lesson in all this is that humans impact our planet and some of its outcomes. Coronavirus has forced industries to reduce output, and families to shelter in place.

Another lesson is that we can all do something. Throughout the world, our actions of love have been critical in fighting coronavirus. COVID-19 case and death curves have begun to flatten because of the collective actions of citizens of planet Earth. We were the ones that wore our masks and increased sanitation routines. We were the ones that held others accountable. I hope that we begin to see the collective value of protecting Earth as a result of this ordeal. Remember, loving God, my neighbor and myself also means loving Mother Earth.

Blesings,

Ministry at the time of Coronavirus (Covid 19): Prevent, cure and accompany

Now we have to shape what some have started calling; The Church at Home. Although I keep asking myself; What do those who do not have a home do? For this reason, at the same time, I am declaring today in our Holyrood Church a Lenten day of prayer, fasting and reading the Bible in the Time of the Coronavirus.
