ELECTIONS TO THE VESTRY

Tomorrow, Sunday, August 9, we will hold the elections to the Parish Board (Vestry) in our Holyrood Church. This will be from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Parish Hall of the Church.

When making decisions about who to vote for, think about this:

1. Great leaders lead. Implicit in the word "leader" is the idea of intentionally moving toward a clear and compelling goal and inspiring others to move in that direction. A leader has a mission to fulfill and encourages others to work with to achieve it.

2. It is an example. In Luke 6:40 Jesus said, "The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully qualified will be like his teacher." Great leaders live what they seek to teach their followers.

3. Great leaders pray and act. "But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed." Luke 5:16. Nehemiah had a call from God to rebuild Jerusalem. God provided all the necessary workers, and construction began. However, they had their enemies, those who wanted to stop rebuilding. Nehemiah discovered that prayer leads us to communicate with God, leads us to open our hearts to him, leads us to brokenness, makes us look so drinkable and at the same time so strong.

4. Great leaders learn. Great leaders are great learners. They read. They listen. They walk with the people.

Always remember that Jesus had a lot to say and teach about the practicalities of leadership. In practical terms, developing leadership skills with a Christlike heart of service generates significant benefits that further the work of the Church.

We are looking for competent individuals to continue revitalizing our Holy Cross Church. So pray, act, and vote.

Blessings

Ministry at the time of Coronavirus (Covid 19): Prevent, cure and accompany

Now we have to shape what some have started calling; The Church at Home. Although I keep asking myself; What do those who do not have a home do? For this reason, at the same time, I am declaring today in our Holyrood Church a Lenten day of prayer, fasting and reading the Bible in the Time of the Coronavirus.
