Sixth Week of Easter

May 22, 2017 – May 26, 2017

Halleluiah!  The Lord is Risen Indeed!  Halleluiah!

After a little hiatus (since 2/27-3/10), we are picking up again with Deuteronomy. Then picking up with Ezekiel as well.  Not sure where the Lectionary will take us!
For Epistle readings, we are moving on to Letter of James.  No one knows exactly who, but they say that the best scholarly guess is that this was written by James, the brother of Jesus.
We continue with reading from the Gospel of Luke.  We read Jesus’ providing the Lord’s Prayer to the disciples as well as many parables. We wrap up the week with the story of the Transfiguration.
This Thursday we celebrate the Ascension Day.  10 days later will be the Day of Pentecost.  A little deviation from the regular Office Readings can be expected.
