Week of Ordinary; Proper Eight
July 03, 2017 – July 07, 2017
In the Old Testament, we have been reading 1st Book of Samuel. This week we continue with the story of King Saul and his son Jonathan. Hopefully we’ll get to meet David soon!
In the new testament, we have another Saul – Saul of Tarsus – in the midst of his anti-Christianity activities. Stephen is martyred which marks the beginning of Saul’s ferocious persecution of Christians, until on the road to Damascus…
In the Gospel reading this week, we find ourselves in the midst of Luke’s account of Jesus’ passion – the trial and the conviction. No matter which Gospel, it is heart-wrenching to see the lonely Christ.
Happy 1 Year! Although there were some hiatus last fall, I started doing the Morning Prayer on July 05, 2016!
This week we will use Text 02.
