Morning Prayer – Week of Ordinary; Proper Sixteen
August 28, 2017 – September 1, 2017
In the Old Testament reading, we wrapped up 2 Samuel at the end of last week, and now we move on to 1st Book of Kings where we meet King Solomon and his promise to God and God’s promise to him.
We will be ending the week reading the last recorded Acts of the apostles.
In the Gospel we enter the reading of Mark’s account of the last supper.
Also, for your information after having done the Morning Prayer for over one year, I realized finally that we are not reading all of the Psalms because half of them are designated to be read at Evening Prayer, and the Morning/Evening prayer schedule does not change. Therefore, I decided we will be reading the Psalms designated for Evening Prayers starting this week so that the we can experience reciting all of the Psalms in due time.
This week we will use Text 02.
Late News: I’M SORRY BUT I WILL BE FLYING TO LOS ANGELES ON FRIDAY. So no Morning Prayer between September 1st ~ 5th. Will resume on the 6th. You’re welcome to use the prepared readings.
