Saint Francis: The patron of animals

My dear Holyrood family of Santa Cruz.
Saint Francis is the patron of animals because according to tradition he had the gift of understanding animals and it was said that flocks of swallows kept flying in the form of a cross. The story of the fierce wolf that obeyed him when he asked him not to attack anyone else is also very famous.

In our holistic theology we recognize that animals are a gift from God and they help us in many ways because they are part of creation.

Harvest Festival

The Harvest Festival is a celebration of thanksgiving. It has been carried out since the Inca period to give thanks for the food received from the harvest - which guaranteed the food for a year - and makes this celebration one of the longest-lived in humanity. In our context it is also celebrated to remember in our holistic theology that we must protect Mother Nature.

Trilingual Community Mass

Hoy Sunday we will have our Trilingual Community Mass (Spanish, English and ASL) at 11:00 am. The liturgy process for tomorrow will be in the context of celebrating the historical legacy of Rev. Thomas Gallaudet & Rev. Henry Winter Syle, the Apostles of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Therefore, in our liturgy we will be using the exercise of silence a lot and during the peace we will say greetings by spelling our names in sign language. Remember, the opposite of exclusion is participation, so you will also see the incredible participation of our deaf sisters and brothers.
