Durante el sermón voy a afirmar que el Evangelio de Juan deja en claro que Aquel que se encarnó y tomó carne humana nació para ser clavado en una cruz por nuestro bien. Y la sangre que brotaba de él debía fluir libremente de sus manos y pies heridos. Y nació para morir por ti y por mí. Y después de tres días resucita. Y todo esto fue hecho por ti y por mí para nuestra salvación.

El Evangelio de Juan nos enseña; "Porque tanto amó Dios al mundo que dio a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree no se pierda, más tenga vida eterna". Y Jesús realmente conoce y comprende nuestros anhelos y necesidades más profundos. Jesús sabe que anhelamos ser amad@s, perdonad@s y alimentad@s física y espiritualmente.

Desafortunadamente, no pudimos hacer esto por nosotr@s mism@s. Necesitábamos un Salvador, alguien enviado por Dios que pudiera alimentarnos con alimentos que duraran para siempre. Jesús dijo: “Yo soy el pan vivo que descendió del cielo. El que come de este pan vivirá para siempre; y el pan que daré por la vida del mundo es mi carne. "

Y de nuevo "Los que comen mi carne y beben mi sangre, en mí permanecen, y yo en ell@s". Para Jesús, comer es creer; y beber es creer. Y Jesús promete vida eterna a todas las personas que creen en él. Por tanto, es justo y apropiado que demos gracias a Dios por la salvación que Dios ha preparado para nosotr@s por medio de Su Hijo Jesucristo, nuestro Señor.

Cada vez que se nos invita a venir a la Mesa del Señor, escuchamos a Jesús decir: “Te amo. Estás perdonad@. La cena está lista. Ven, dame un festín y participa en el banquete de amor destinado a todas las personas por el perdón de los pecados. "Y para eso tod@s debemos gritar con gozo Amén. Ven Señor Jesús.

Y recuerde, la resurrección de Jesús es una acción radical que nos dice que la lucha por la justicia continúa. Ven e invita a alguien a escuchar las Buenas Nuevas de la liberación salvífica.

During the sermon I’m going to claim that the Gospel of John makes it clear that the One who became incarnate and took on human flesh was born to be nailed to a cross for our sake.  And His blood was meant to flow freely from His wounded hands and feet.  And He was born to die for you and for me.  And after three days rise again. And this was all done for you and for me for our salvation.

John’s Gospel teaches us “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”  Yes.  Jesus truly knows and understands our deepest longings and needs.  Jesus knows that we long to be loved, and forgiven, and fed physically and spiritually.  

Unfortunately, we could not do this by ourselves.  We needed a Savior, someone sent by God who could feed us with food that would last forever.  Jesus said “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

And again “Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in them.”  For Jesus, eating is believing; and drinking is believing.  And Jesus promises eternal life to all who believe in Him. Therefore, it is indeed right and proper that we give thanks to God for the salvation God has prepared for us through His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

For every time we are invited to come to the Lord’s Table, we hear Jesus say: “I love you.  You are forgiven.  Dinner is ready.  Come, feast on me and participate in the banquet of love meant for all people for the forgiveness of sin.”  And to that we all should joyfully shout out Amen.  Come Lord Jesus.

And remember, the resurrection of Jesus is a radical action that tells us that the fight for justice continues. Come and invite someone to hear the Good News of saving liberation.
