The Stations of the Cross

Good morning, happy Tuesday and blessings.

Today we start at 6:30 pm our Via Crucis or Stations of the Cross. The Stations of the Cross, also known as La Via Dolorosa, or The Via Crucis, is a narrative of the final hours in the life of Jesus Christ on earth, which continue to provide spiritual conviction for every Christian, as well as its application to our lives. The Stations of the Cross serve as a strong reminder of the humble way in which Jesus was willing to set aside any privilege of His divinity, in order to provide a way to salvation through His sacrifice.

The great sacrifice of Jesus, not only became the atonement for the sins of the human being, but also became the victory that would defeat and conquest death, which would otherwise have been the inescapable destiny for all people . Because God is loving and merciful, as well as just, He sent His only Son to pay the penalty for our sins, knowing that we were otherwise condemned for all eternity (John 3:16). The love and mercy of God were greatly demonstrated by the words of Jesus while hanging agonizingly on the cross, by asking God to forgive those who in ignorance were killing him (Luke 23:34).

While not all people will agree with the way in which this tradition is practiced, it is important that all believers reflect on the suffering that Jesus suffered in his last hours before the cross. Today, many people also reflect on this moment through the Eucharist, remembering the death and suffering of Jesus, his broken body and spilled blood, in the name of our sins. The Stations of the Cross help us to understand the sacrifice and love of Jesus for us.

Remember, today at 6:00 pm we will walk with Jesus.

Blessings

Ministry at the time of Coronavirus (Covid 19): Prevent, cure and accompany

Now we have to shape what some have started calling; The Church at Home. Although I keep asking myself; What do those who do not have a home do? For this reason, at the same time, I am declaring today in our Holyrood Church a Lenten day of prayer, fasting and reading the Bible in the Time of the Coronavirus.
