Radical Love

Good morning, happy Tuesday, and blessings.

In today’s gospel, John 17:1-11a, Jesus prays for us, even though we fail to pray for ourselves. The suffering began soon after the Last Supper when Jesus and His disciples went to the Garden of Gethsemane. Knowing that the time of His death was near, Jesus prayed intently.

Magnify your Joy

They are lights of happiness.

Good morning, happy Friday, and blessings.

Today's Gospel (John 16: 20-23a) puts us back to reflecting on joys and sorrows when we are in Christ. I want to contrast it with what Paul says to the church of Rome in his pastoral letter (Romans 14:17): For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Prayer is reflected in our lives.

Good morning, happy Saturday, and blessings.

In John 16 (23b-28) Jesus said to his disciples: "Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you. Until now you have not asked anything in my name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. In this biblical narrative, Jesus establishes the need and importance of prayer.

Jesus turns your sadness into joy.

Good morning, happy Thursday, and many blessings.

A discipleship of service

Good morning, happy Wednesday and blessings.

Shortly before his death, Jesus expressed to a group of his followers and supporters, in John 16: 12-15, that he wanted to tell them many more things, but that they were not yet able to bear (v. 12).

Trust in God.

Good morning, happy Tuesday, and blessings.

In this Gospel (John 16: 5-11) for today there is a phrase that has touched me very deep and that is when Jesus says to the disciples: sadness has filled your heart.

Jesus recognizes and identifies the way his disciples are feeling with the whole issue of farewell and separation between them. Hence the promise of the Comforter, someone who will bring us comfort in the midst of sadness.

Neutrality does not exist

Good morning, happy Saturday, and blessings.

In today’s Gospel (John 15:18-21) Jesus said to his disciples: “If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. But it is also interesting when Jesus tells us; "If the material world hates you, you know it has hated me before you. This version is taken from the Gospel of Thomas which for me is another source of inspiration and helps us understand what Jesus identifies as the world.

Agape Love

Good morning, happy Friday, and blessings.

Today’s Gospel (John ‪15:12-17‬) give us a powerful message; When we face a crisis, we, as the body of Christ are mandated to show love for one another, love, not just in word, but in action.

In the midst of adversity, God is using us

Ministry at the time of Coronavirus (Covid 19): Prevent, cure and accompany

Now we have to shape what some have started calling; The Church at Home. Although I keep asking myself; What do those who do not have a home do? For this reason, at the same time, I am declaring today in our Holyrood Church a Lenten day of prayer, fasting and reading the Bible in the Time of the Coronavirus.
