The repentance

Good morning, happy Thursday and blessings.

Today I ask you; What is true repentance? Repentance is more than confession, and much more than regret or feel guilty. Repentance is a fact of the will; is to be willing to turn your back on sin. In the Bible we find many who said: "I have sinned" but did not repent. To all such God says: "tear your heart and not your clothes" (Joel 2:13). In other words, they should not only say they are very sorry, but repent.

Lor, make me an instrument of your pace

Good morning, happy Wednesday.

In the Gospel of Matthew 5: 9, Jesus tells his disciples ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called daughters and sons of God’.

Forgive others

Good morning, happy Tuesday and blessings.

What does the Bible say about forgiving other people? The Bible is very clear on the issue of forgiving other people. Look carefully at this message that Jesus gives us: “For if you forgive people their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; But if you do not forgive people their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. ” Matthew ‪6: 14-15‬. In other words, if I do not forgive those who offend me, God will not forgive me.

Transformation in Jesus

Good morning, happy Friday and blessings.

Today we are reflecting on how we know that we have gone through a true transformation in Jesus. We tend to see accountability as a means to stop us from doing “bad” things. We reinforce the idea that our spiritual evolution is about cutting out negative behaviors. But what if I just replace that time with video games or watching TV? Those are fairly benign activities, right? It becomes a lot harder to hold each other accountable to what’s genuinely profitable because it’s ultimately different for each of us.

I have overcome the worl

Good morning, happy Thursday and blessings.

Today I woke up with this question in my mind: What can we do when life hurts? Sometimes life makes us feel like we're getting pummeled. We're getting pounded with left hooks and uppercuts and we don't have a chance to cover up and defend ourselves. Then we find ourselves lying on the canvas, dazed and confused. We make it to our feet and then the bell rings; ending the round. We stumble back to our corner and wonder if the next round will be worse.

Be salt and light?

Good morning, happy Saturday and blessings.

I remind you that tomorrow Sunday we will have our Community Masses in English & ASL at 10:00 am and in Spanish at 12:00 pm.

During the sermon we will be reflecting on the Gospel of Matthew (5: 13-20) where Jesus challenges his disciples at that time and us now so that we become salt and light of the world.

Ministry at the time of Coronavirus (Covid 19): Prevent, cure and accompany

Now we have to shape what some have started calling; The Church at Home. Although I keep asking myself; What do those who do not have a home do? For this reason, at the same time, I am declaring today in our Holyrood Church a Lenten day of prayer, fasting and reading the Bible in the Time of the Coronavirus.
