June 17, 2021, marks 50 years since Richard Nixon declared drugs to be “public enemy number one,” launching a national campaign to criminalize people who use drugs. To raise awareness of this milestone, we are marking the 50th anniversary of America’s war on people who use drugs with a series of sermons and roundtable conversations memorializing the victims of the war on people who use drugs and affirming that they are deserving of life, dignity, and human rights. On June 30th from 3:30pm – 5pm ET, join us for a virtual roundtable and service to lift up the voices of justice and love as we collectively vision a world beyond overdose, mass incarceration, family separation, and the war on people who use drugs. The event will include a sermon by Fr. Luis Barrios, pastor at Holyrood Episcopal Church – Iglesia Santa Cruz in Washington Heights, testimony from community leaders, an introduction to the Spirit of Harm Reduction Toolkit, and an overdose prevention training.

Ministry at the time of Coronavirus (Covid 19): Prevent, cure and accompany

Now we have to shape what some have started calling; The Church at Home. Although I keep asking myself; What do those who do not have a home do? For this reason, at the same time, I am declaring today in our Holyrood Church a Lenten day of prayer, fasting and reading the Bible in the Time of the Coronavirus.
