Living in Jesus

Good morning, happy Thursday and blessing.

Biblical reflection today in the Gospel of Saint John (5: 31-47) tells us of a dispute between Jesus and the Jews. It is a moment where Jesus felt misunderstood, rejected and attacked; this because they did not understand his words. So, he appeals to the works he does, for they speak of who he is and who he sends him to. The works are irrefutable, and people of right intention understand and comprehend them.

Day of the Annunciation of Mary

Good morning, happy Wednesday and blessings.

Saint Romero of America

Good morning, happy Tuesday and blessings.

On a day like today, March 24, 1980, Archbishop Oscar Romero was assassinated in El Salvador and that same day, when he liberated himself from his body, he became our Saint Romero of America and making the Gospel of Matthew 5:11 real: Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

How do I approach God

Good morning, happy Saturday and blessings.

Do we constantly criticize others? Do we constantly compare ourselves to others to justify ourselves? Let’s learn from Luke 18:9-14 that we are all in the same boat and that God alone justifies.

Spiritual Desolation

Good morning, happy Monday and blessings.

Doing as a kind of recap or summary of the week I could notice that many people with whom I could communicate were suffering from spiritual desolation. I am aware that difficult times are opportunities for us to strengthen our faith.

But at the same time, it may be the beginning of my spiritual desolation.

Where does my help come from???

Good morning, happy Friday and many blessings.

Psalm 121:1 tell us; I lift up my eyes to the mountains-- where does my help come from? Of course, my help always comes from God. The challenge of the Coronavirus is not a time to take away our faith, on the contrary, this is a time to reaffirm ourselves and strengthen our faith in God and solidify our relationships.

Obstacles in life

Good morning, happy Thursday and many blessings.

There is a phrase in Lazurus' resurrection (John 11:39) that has always fascinated me: "Take away the stone," He said.

Trust God

Good morning, happy Wednesday and blessings.

I can tell you from my own experience that the problems of life can sometimes come upon us and before we can get one thing straightened out, we are bombarded with another. Here we are now with the Coronavirus and other realities.

But I've learned that most of the time that trouble comes, God wants to sharpen us, mold us, and transform us into something greater. We need to learn to trust God in the middle of our mess. Why? Allow me to share with you three reason;

I do believe with all my heart

Good morning, happy Tuesday and blessings. The reality of the Coronavirus has put us in the midst of a humanitarian emergency crisis that demands our empathy and solidarity love as a priority, but all this without losing hope. The Biblical reading of the prophet Habakkuk (1: 2-4) forces us to be sincere when we answer this question: Who has not ever lost hope? Unfortunately, we are living in a time when it is easy to lose hope. The Coronavirus crisis is one of these hopeless realities.

You will not be defeated

Good morning, happy Monday and blessings my dear Holyrood family. I remind you that today Monday we have Mass and Eucharist in Spanish at 12:00 pm. Come and celebrate in community.

Ministry at the time of Coronavirus (Covid 19): Prevent, cure and accompany

Now we have to shape what some have started calling; The Church at Home. Although I keep asking myself; What do those who do not have a home do? For this reason, at the same time, I am declaring today in our Holyrood Church a Lenten day of prayer, fasting and reading the Bible in the Time of the Coronavirus.
