Belen's Path

Today's Biblical narrative is in the Gospel of Matthew (2: 1) and tells us: After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the time of King Herod, behold, some magicians from the east came to Jerusalem. On the road to Belen we meet Jesus the Christ.  But also… On that road to Bethlehem we must ask God: That our Church fight firmly and tenaciously against all forms of injustice and oppression, exposing the social mechanisms that generate them. On that road to Bethlehem we must ask God: That the followers of Jesus have gestures full of tenderness that always offer a new horizon to people, only then will we be signs of the Kingdom that comes with Jesus. On that road to Bethlehem we must ask God: That all of us be passionate about life, with our words, with our hands, with our eyes, with our hearts ... with caresses, kisses, meals in common, dialogues, contacts, and hugs.
On that road to Bethlehem: That we find ways of if we have sinned against someone, the Holy Spirit makes us feel uncomfortable, until we accept responsibility for our own actions and not blame someone else, or try to find excuses for what have we done. On that road to Bethlehem: That we learn that forgiving does not mean always giving in, letting evil triumph, or letting itself be trampled without justice, but understanding the carnal essence of the human being that has a wrong focus, a nature that all people have and that only in Christ can you dominate. This reminds us that our task as believers is to heal, rebuild and free life. Merry Christmas and we are on our way to Bethlehem. Blessings Fr. Luis +
