International woman day

Good morning and blessings. Today is Sunday, day of worshiping God. Come and worship in community and continue revitalizing our church. And remember that the clock changed,
We will have to advance one hour.

Today we will have Community Masses in English & ASL at 10:00 am and in Spanish at 12:00 pm.
And we will be celebrating in the context of Lent, the spiritual dimension of the International Women's Day. We will remind you that everyone has the right to claim and defend their dignity. Therefore, women have every right to be respected and valued just like men, because all people are God’s creation. He loves us and wants us to respect his will, which is that we love each other as He has loved us.

But at the same time we will reflect on the meaning of being able to take a special day of the year around the world to celebrate women - not women as mothers, not women as lovers and friends, but women as individuals and as workers, as image of God. We will reflect on the reality that traditionally a male chauvinistic culture is key to understanding the increase in feminicide figures (a specific type of homicide in which a male murder a woman or girl for being a female). Femicide is the most extreme manifestation of men's abuse and violence towards women.

Therefore, as a People-Church we are building a theology that is inspired by the believing conviction that the Christian faith must guarantee a better quality of life that replaces the present abusive, inhumanity and violence lived daily by women as a social group. . Let us eradicate the sins of sexism, patriarchalism, feminicide, and misogyny (aversion and also hatred towards women or girls).

Do not stay at home, come and celebrate in community. Blessings.

Fr. Luis
